A four weeks baby boy was found dumped at the dumping side at Mhlambe stand in Wintervelt North of Pretoria earlier today at around 14:00.
Constable Herman Moremi of Temba SAPS Corporate Communication, said an employee at a crèche in Wintervelt recovered the baby while throwing rubbish at the dumping site. The employee saw a blanket with something inside and went to inspect and recovered the baby still alive.
She immediately informed Loate police, as she was afraid that the baby might die, she took the baby with her to the police station.
The Police arrange an ambulance while keeping the child safe in a warm room.
The mother of the child is unknown and there is no information of when the child was dumped at dumping side.
The police are investigating case of child abandonment and anyone with information about the whereabouts of the mother can call Loate police on 0127977800 or 08600 10111.
