The community of Temba has gone on a shutdown burning tires and blocking roads in and out of Temba. Yesterday the community was informed not to bother going to work or opening their busineses.
The City of Tshwane has not yet responded to the crisis with community members feeling that the City has infringed on their basic human right.
Residents said the water coming out their taps are not fresh and keeps on changing color to white or brown.
The community said they had enough and resorted to burning tires and blocking main roads with rocks.
In the morning the community handed a memorandum to the local council and the councilor responded that as far as the city is concerned the water is healthy to be consumed.
The mayor, Solly Msimang was also criticized for not paying attention and that since the water problems started he has not visited the area to inspect the situation.
