Samuel Mashishi, the athlete we published in our previous copy, says he is in need of sponsorship of running shots and running shoes to help the children he is training to become professional athletes.
“At this point even second hand or used items will be accepted because we do not have an NPO to mobilise funding for us,” he said.
He said he will also welcome people who can assist with ideas on how to sustain the training program for the kids.
The children are already running fun runs, 5km and 10km races and he would like to service not only Ramotse Village kids but the whole of Hammanskraal and Moretele Region.
Some of the big race the kids participated at last year include Warmbaths Race on 11 November 2018, Mandela Race Union Building 2019, Wonderpark 26 January 2019 and other local races like Dominican Fun Run, Marokolong Fun Run and Ramotse My Home Mandela Day Fun Run.
He said the kids enjoy the sports and are encouraged because it also keeps them healthy and safe from bad things that happens on the streets.
Mr Mashishi said he will also need a sponsor himself as he prepares for the Comrades Marathons this year so if there are local businesses that need to plough back to the community, here is an opportunity to do so in return for brand exposure.
