The South African Red Cross Society (SARCS) has deployed a team to Jubilee mall to help fight the spread of coronavirus.
The team advises people to stay safe from COVID19 at the mall as they move around the mall handing out pamphlets advising shoppers about how coronavirus spreads and how they can protect themselves.
Mr Johannes Sibiya is the Pretoria Branch manager of the South African Red Cross Society. He said the organization is the Humanitarian organization that was formed under the government Act that has been deployed ever since the lockdown started.
He said that the team will remain at the mall until the end of the lockdown and it will depend on the government if the team will remain operating even after the lockdown.

Shoppers at the Jubilee mall expressed their views based on how the team has been influential to them, Ms Lesego Mabona said, ‘‘This team is very important here at the mall because they move around giving out information about coronavirus, and if we are queuing for shopping, they are consistently instructing us to stand one meter away from each other. This is helpful to prevent the spread of the virus from one person to the other.’’ Ms Mabona said.
Mr Mike Ratshisusu said, ‘‘as shoppers we should adhere to what they are saying, after all they are trying to spare our lives, I just do not understand why other people are so mean to them because they are risking their lives to save us. We should all work with them, together we can beat this virus.’’ Mr Ratshisusu said.
