Gontse Shirinde the founder and chairman of Hammanskraal Sports Academy from Hammanskraal Kanana said his team would have won the league and received many sponsors if it wasn’t for lockdown and that it is going to be hard to get back on their feet.

When the lockdown started, they were working on winning the league and getting promoted to SAB League.

They played their last game on 15 March 2020 and was it not of the pandemic, they would have played close to 100 games in their under 13 and senior teams.

They are currently working with Hammanskraal Local Football Association focusing on soccer and they have 120 players in all divisions from under 13 to seniors.

Mr Shirinde said after COVID 19 Lockdown, they plan to continue where they left off starting with looking for sponsors and to be ready to perform at the best to make up for all the lost time.

“If we get support from the community, we can be able to achieve some of our goals and dreams,” said Mr Shirinde.
