Community of Majaneng in Hammanskraal were left disappointed by the halting to the construction of a new clinic in their area.
This comes after they were informed that funds were no longer enough to complete what was going to be a mini-hospital.
Martin Ngwatle (51years) who is a resident of Majaneng and was working for a construction company that was constructing the clinic told Moretele Times that he is disappointed by the missing funds that were supposed to complete the clinic.
Mr Ngwatle says they were told by the manager of the company they were employed under that the project would not be continuing anymore as budget have ran out.
“I am left with no words to explain how disappointed I am. This clinic was going to safe many lives as it was going to operate 24hours and we were told that it is a mini-hospital.” Said Mr Ngwatle.
The clinic was meant to replace the old Clinic that is located in Kekana Stad as it was too small to accommodate large number of patients at once. The clinic lacked facilities and the new one gave people of Majaneng hope to a new improved health service.
Gogo Maria Mabunda, (76), told Moretele Times that she is heartbroken as the clinic was going to help her as she had ageing illnesses that needed medical attention.
“I have sugar diabetic and I have to go fetch my medication every month at Jubilee Hospita, if the clinic was finished I was going to just walk to the clinic, nit ow means I must continue waking up at dawn monthly to go queue early to get my medication,” she said.
Residents pleaded with the municipality to see to it that the clinic is completed and it is serving its purpose of providing health services.
