Unemployed youth to study jewellery design and watchmaking programmes in Italy

The Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Training, Mr Mduduzi Manana, hosted a send-off ceremony for 25 unemployed youth who will be departing for Italy to participate in the Goldsmith Art, Jewellery Design and Watchmaker programmes yesterday.

The initiative has been made possible by the National Skills Fund (NSF), the Mining Qualifications Authority (MQA), and the IL Tari Academy.
This is a two-year programme that will provide these 25 young South Africans with opportunities to study at one of the most renowned Academy specialising in Jewellery Design. The objective of the project is to increase the talent and skills of South African youth in mineral beneficiation by learning from one of the international leading markets. Tari Design School is a jewellery manufacturing school in Italy. The school manufactures goods which are mainly exported abroad.
