Gauteng Premier David Makhura and the City of Tshwane Executive Mayor Councillor Kgosientso Ramokgopa will on Thursday May 12 2016, launch a Refuse Plastic Bag Manufacturing Facility in Region 5, Refilwe, Cullinan, as part of the township economy revitalization programme.

The Project, which entails the establishment of a factory where refuse plastic bags will be manufactured and supplied to the identified market, will equip the local community with the skills to manufacture refuse plastic bags. It will also provide economic opportunities that will yield income generating activities and ensure maximum beneficiation of the local community, including aspiring young entrepreneurs.
The City has identified businesses in Cullinan that will support the initiative by procuring goods that will be manufactured at the facility. These stakeholders have committed on signing purchasing contracts with the facility which will in turn add significant value in the realisation of the vision to have vibrant township economy characterized by high employment and low poverty levels.
