Residents of Rand View Hammanskraal Temba, feel neglected by the municipality of Tshwane ever since their area was established.

Several complaints and memorandums were sent to the City of Tshwane in relation to lack of development in their area since 1994 and to date nothing has been done.

Mr Issac Mphaha, the councillor of ward 75, said the place was declared informal and that the municipality is going to use the whole space of Rand View for municipal projects. He advised the Rand View residents to come to his office and stop using media platform to attack the municipality.

Rand View residents are furious about the way they have been treated by the municipality and they have been trying to get councillors to do something about their living conditions.

A resident, Mr Fankie Moleba, said some areas established after Rand View are already developing while they are stuck with no electricity, water and sanitation.

“The municipality is treating us unfairly, they said they sent letters of eviction to us but we never got such, instead our personal details were flying on the streets after being thrown by people we don’t know in our dumping area, “said another resident, Ms Jane Motileng.

Mr Thabang Baloyi, also a resident said it will mean that the eviction letters were not intended for them, “because if they were meant for us, individuals would have received them”.

The community is scheduled to meet with Mr Mphaha in due course to resolve the impasse.
