The Kekana Royal Family was locked in a meeting today to discuss the way forward after the unseating of the acting Chief Cornelius Kekana.

Yesterday the Royal Family convened a meeting with the community to ensure the community about restoration of order.

Since 2014 the community of Majaneng has been complaining about mismanagement and alleged corruption leveled at the ousted Chief. Each time the community wanted to take action against the alleged corruption, the Royal Family would intervene to calm matters down.

The community was at this stage running out of patience and was celebrating last week on the news that the Chief has been removed.

At the meeting on Friday the Royal Family promised the community that development programmes will be rolled out and pleaded for patience since there will be teething problems to fix things.

Recently Moretele Times reported on a story about the clinic that could not be completed in Majaneng because of funds that had gone missing. It is believed that the Royal Family is preparing a dossier regarding all the alleged mismanagement and corruption that will be handed to the law enforcement authorities.

The Royal Family is said to be pained that it has to deal with one of its family members in this manner.

The ousted Chief was not at the meetings yesterday and today, however, today’s meeting was also attended by the rightful heir who cannot ascend to the throne because the Ndebele culture does not allow a woman to lead the tribe.
