eKasi Challenge raises the ambition of local Hammanskraal kids

Hammankraal welcomed the fifth edition of the momentum eKasi Challenge that saw the host, the Multiply Titans earning their first ever win in the competition at the Nelson Mandela sports complex in Hammanskraal, last Wednesday.

The Multiply Titans ended the eKasi Challenge consistent run of the bizhub Highveld Lions of Johannesburg after hammering them by 71 runs./

The Moyer of the City of Tshwane, Mr Solly Masinga, was delighted to see the excitement of kids in the community “I am happy to see the kids here some are aspiring cricket players, some will take the sport for the first time and I think this is a good initiative for the community “

Mr Masinga further stated that he was very proud to see such quality facility in the community that shows that the community loves it and they are making it their own, which is a good thing.

Aspiring cricket player, Boy Maluleka (10), from Temba said “ I am here to watch the Titans and the Lions play, one day I wish to be the one playing for the Multiply Titans.”

The Hammanskraal cricket club organizer, Mr Ikhumotseng Moto, said he believes kids will join the cricket club in numbers after they have seen the professional players and he wish the department of education could come on board so they could work together to develop talent in Hammanskraal.
