Christmas came early for young Thapelo Rachidi, the winner of the R3000 Jubilee Mall Shine Like a Star Talent Show first price. He will be smiling all the way to the Jubilee Mall Edgars Store where he will be able to use his R3000 worth voucher that he won in the final dance act of the talent show.
Thapelo could not hold his excitement at winning the grand price in a tightly contested talent show attended by parents and members of the community at Jubilee Mall on 22 December 2017.
He beat his rival, Tebogo Ramonyai, who at second place won a R2000 Edgars voucher price.
“I am very excited at this opportunity and I still cannot believe it or explain my joy,” said Thapelo.
The jubilee Mall Shine like a star talent show started on 27 November 2017 for children aged between 10 to 16 years old for the dancing and singing competition. A number of 20 children entered the competition and selections were held for the top eight, five and three finalists.
Marketing manager at Jubilee Mall, Ms Mmabatho Madisa, thanked parents for allowing their children to take part in the competition.
“I want to thank parents for supporting their children today and for being there for them throughout the selection process,” she said.
Ms Madisa also acknowledged the support of KFC, Thunder Bay Spur and Edgars Jubilee Mall for making the event possible and further took the opportunity to wish the customers of Jubilee Mall a happy festive season.
Other contestants who did not win were also presented with prizes to acknowledge them and to encourage them to keep trying.
