FC Temba were crowned Hammanskraal Champions of Champion 2017 in a hotly contested soccer tournament held at the Temba Stadium on Saturday 30 December 2017.
The game ended 1-1 at 90 minutes, which led to the match going into extra time and coming out goalless.
The final was then decided through penalties that were characterized by missed shots from both sides and ended in sudden death goal of 4-3 in favor of FC Temba.
FC Temba coach, Mr Benedict Morare, applauded his team for good performance even though they started slow and missed many chances.
“I would also like to thank the organisers of this tournament as it was well managed,” said Mr Morare.
Arsenal FC goalkeeper stole the moment by winning the two individual awards for goalkeeper of the tournament and player of the tournament. Supporter’s player of the tournament went to Thabiso Mvula.
Third and fourth place matches were not played due to Madiba and TFC not honouring their match.
Organisers of the tournament thanked all teams who participated in the inaugural tournament and all local fans who took their time during the festive season to support the tournament.
