The Brits Cluster Operation Fiela II, which was conducted at Makapanstad on Thursday, 2 August 2018, yielded positive results with the apprehension of 40 persons and 90 vehicles searched.
Amongst these arrests, 11 suspects were apprehended for possession of dagga, three for dealing with liquor without a license, one for contravention of the Second Hand Goods Act (Act No 6 of 2009), one for trading in counterfeit goods, one for trading without a license and two for contravention of the Animal Identification Act (Act No 6 of 2002).
During the operation 19 traffic fines were issued , two vehicles were impounded at Moretele Traffic for being un-roadworthy and one vehicle was impounded at Makapanstad SAPS.
The weekly multi-disciplinary operation consisted of members from all stations within the Cluster, Dog Unit (K9), Crime Intelligence as well as external stakeholders from the Department of Traffic.
