The Executive Mayor of Tshwane, Solly Msimanga, and MMC for Community and Social Development Services, Cllr Ntsiki Mokhotho, launched the City of Tshwane Women’s Market in celebration of the International Women’s Day in particular and Women’s Month in general on Wednesday 08/08/18 at the Tshwane House Municipal Headquarters.
The Market is aimed at celebrating the role women play in society and to empower women traders during Women’s Month.
The first Market took place on Wednesday and will be followed by other markets being held every Friday during the month of August. The women sold variety of goods including food, jewelry and clothes.
The market takes place under the theme “Empower a woman, empower a nation because women are the stronghold of the nations”.
