GiveAJersey celebrating its birthday at Phomolong Suurman

Goitseone Raseroka, (24) from Kekana Gardens, Hammanskraal, organized people to work with him in his project, #GiveAJersey which donates jerseys in and around Hammanskraal.

#GiveAJersey operates through posting messages on Facebook using hashtags for awareness to invite people to donate old jerseys or any warm clothes which they wash and donate to the needy along with meals they prepare on selected days.

Mr Raseroka said he is happy that his work is growing and keep on improving in just three months. So far they have been successful in dedicating themselves to making donations every Friday.

Their love for seeing people happy has motivated them to also start another project to cook and #givingAMeal to the hungry.

#GiveAJersey only turned four months old on 29 August 2020 at Phomolong Suurman supported by Gama awards.

“Our future plan is to grow beyond winter clothes to give to the poor or the disadvantaged and to operate throughout the year also to cook every day to help our community.

“We also need sponsors to help us with transportation, empty boxes (to package clothes) to make our work easier so that we can reach out to more people,” said Mr Raseroka.

On 4 September 2020, the organization was in Boikanyo Mentally Disturbed Children’s Centre to donate jerseys.

The organization is in the process of finalizing their registration papers.
