The Temba SAPS together with the Community policing forum held sports against crime awareness event at Temba stadium on 30 October 2021 where 36 teams around Temba participated.
Sergeant Herman Moremi of Corporate Communications Temba SAPS said the main aim of the event was to encourage youth to participate in sporting activities to avoid being involved in using drugs and substance abuse. There were 16 teams that participated in soccer, 16 teams in netball, and only four teams for ladies participated in soccer.
“The event was sponsored by Bakwena N1 N4 and Unica Factory where they donated soccer jerseys, netball jerseys, trophies, and medals. The winning teams walked away with trophies, Jersey, and medals,” Sergeant Moremi said.
