Four Hammankraal tennis players won the tennis competition in Centurion and will be representing South Africa at the upcoming 2022 World Championship Beach Tennis in Brazil.
The boys division was won by Eric Matjiane and Tshepang Tlhatlha both 15 years old, while the girl’s division was won by Mogomotsi Sekgobela (13 years old) and Keotshepile Ntatleng (12 years old).
Mr. Eric Matjiane, the boy’s winner said the fact that he won with friends who made up the team of four from Hammancral even though they were competing independently, makes him glad.
“We are quite pleased with ourselves, our coach and families are very impressed. I hope we will also perform well like today in the upcoming competition in Brazil,” he said.
Ms Mogomotsi Sekgobela, girls competition winner said they won because of the effort they put in the game.
“Without the efforts of our coach and his tactics we would not be here and I give a big thanks to our families for allowing us to follow our hearts,” she said
Mr. Tshepang Chaane, Coach of the Hammanskraal Tennis Club said he is delighted to have dominated at the event and that the players stand a chance to represent South Africa at the 2022 World Championship Beach Tennis in Brazil.”
“I attribute the achievements to the level of commitment of the players and we also appreciate our trophies and our gold medals,” he said.
