Temba police are investigating a case of theft, where a German Shepard dog was stolen from its home on 31 July 2022 at Sekampaneng.

Sergeant Herman Moremi of Corporate Communication at SAPS Temba said the dog was regarded to be friendly and can be nine months old and to the value of R10 000.

“It is alleged that the owner of the dog was not home when she received a call from her mother informing her that the dog is missing, and it’s suspected that the suspect jumped the wall to gain entry and they were using a vehicle. Some footprints and tire trails were found in and outside the yard,” he said.

The station Commander of Temba SAPS Brigadier Johannes Tau said the community must look out for neighbors who did not have a dog before and recently acquired a German Sheppard resembling the one reported missing.

“Thi is the kind of information that will be important in apprehending the perpetrators.  The community needs to prevent such incidents by coming forward with information that can assist with the arrest of the suspects,” he said.

Police urge anyone with information regarding the disappearance of the dog to contact the police on the crime stop line at 08600 10111 or Temba police on 0127179000.
