The African National Congress (ANC) Caucus in the North West Provincial Legislature congratulated Chief Whip Motlalepula Ziphorah Rosho for earning her Master’s Degree in Communication from North West University (NWU). The graduation ceremony took place today at the NWU Mahikeng Campus Great Hall.
Rosho, who previously held an Honours Degree in Communication, presented her dissertation titled “Examining Stakeholder Perception: A Participatory Development Communication Study on the Establishment of JB Marks Local Municipality.” Her academic journey began with a diploma in journalism from Birman Business College, and she later obtained a leadership diploma from UNISA and a Postgraduate Diploma in Leadership and African Studies from the University of Johannesburg.
Her extensive career in communication began in 1994 when she served the ANC Department of Information and Publicity as a Media Organiser during South Africa’s first democratic elections. Rosho also worked as an investigative journalist and volunteered with the South African National Civic Organisation (SANCO) from 1992 to 1993.
Throughout her career, Rosho has held various positions within the ANC, including serving as Media Liaison Officer for the MEC for Agriculture, Conservation, Environment, and Tourism. Her leadership roles have included Deputy Speaker and Chairperson of the Public Accounts Portfolio Committee and MEC for Economic Development, Environment, Conservation, and Tourism from 2012 to 2014.
Despite her demanding schedule, Rosho’s commitment to community activism and her passion for development, good governance, and accountability remain strong. She also served as Head of SANCO’s Media and Communications Subcommittee during her time on its National Executive Committee.
Khoza Pelele, ANC Caucus Spokesperson, said the ANC Caucus commended Rosho’s achievement as a source of inspiration, highlighting her dedication to education and service in addressing the development challenges faced by North West communities. Her determination to balance academic pursuits with public service exemplifies her commitment to lifelong learning and selfless contribution.
