The Little Miss Jubilee Mall has officially opened its doors, marking a milestone as the first of its kind in Hammanskraal. Hosted by Black Chair Events, the organisation is renowned for coordinating various successful community pageants, including Little Miss Denlyn Mall, Little Miss Mams Square, Little Miss Big Save, Little Miss Atlyn Mall, and Little Miss Nkomo Village.
The program is spearheaded by Oratilwe Mashigo, the founder of OM Pageant Coaching and a notable figure in the pageant world. Ms Mashigo is a former 1st Princess of Miss Teenager South Africa and the first and youngest South African representative at the Miss Teen Global Beauty pageant in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Her expertise and passion for youth empowerment are at the heart of the Little Miss Jubilee Mall initiative.
Ms Mimi Mashigo, Founder of Black Chair Events, said the launch of Little Miss Jubilee Mall is more than just a celebration; it represents a commitment to bridging the gap between corporate entities and the local community. By focusing on the youth, particularly young girls, the initiative aims to promote confidence and self-expression among the children of Hammanskraal.
“Little Miss Jubilee Mall is an opportunity for us to engage directly with the community,” said Ms Mimi. “We believe in empowering our youth, and this program is designed to equip young girls with the skills and self-assurance they need to thrive.”
Every month, the young princesses will gather at Jubilee Mall for specialised rehearsals. These sessions are crafted to teach pageant skills, including stage presence, poise, and the art of the pageant walk. By providing these young girls with the tools they need to express themselves confidently, the program aims to cultivate a new generation of empowered women.
As the Little Miss Jubilee Mall initiative progresses, Ms Mimi Mashigo emphasises that it aims to extend beyond a traditional pageant by focusing on the empowerment of young girls in Hammanskraal.
“This program seeks to provide participants with the skills and confidence necessary to navigate their communities effectively,” she stated. With backing from Black Chair Events, Ms Mashigo believes the initiative has the potential to impact the lives of these young girls, promoting their personal development and community engagement. However, she acknowledges that the success of the program will ultimately depend on its execution and the ongoing support from the local community.
