Temba Police are tracing two suspects of rape where two girls aged 13 and 17 were taken at gunpoint at Suurman Ridge Phomolong section at around 19:30 on 09 October 2021.
Sergeant Herman Moremi of Temba SAPS Corporate Communication said it is alleged that three girls aged 13, 15, and 17 were walking on the street at around 19:30 when a known man pointed them with a firearm and instructed them to accompany him to his shack in Phomolong and on arrival they found an unknown man with dreadlocks in the shack. Both men raped two of the ladies aged 13 and 17 repeatedly till 06:00 in the morning. Thereafter the suspects left the victims in the shack and runaway.
“Community members mobilized and demolished that shack and the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual offense Unit (FCS) are investigating case of rape. Police established that one of the suspects is wanted for a case of pointing a firearm.
“We urge the community to assist with information regarding the whereabouts of the suspects and also advise parents to monitor the movement of their kids at all times. The community needs to be vigilant as one of the suspects is still armed and can still harm anyone,” Sergent Moremi said.
