The Economic Emancipation Forum (ECOFORUM), a political party formed in 2013 and was registered as a political party in South Africa in 2016 has promised to among other things, revive the Babelegi factories.
Dr. Bafana Langa who is the president of the party told Moretele Times that his party has a business plan worth R30 Million to revive Babelegi as a Local Economic Hub catering to the population of Moretele and Tshwane. This will include supporting small business enterprises with the knowledge economy, formalization of businesses, channels of funding, and a market for their business.
The Temba-born Dr Langa said the party through the project called “One Family, One Garden” will be introducing Household Municipal boreholes to supply water to the community and they are currently championing family agriculture projects through distributing vegetable seeds to thousands of homes in Tshwane and Moretele with a potential for Commercial Farming.
The party President said their Ward Councillor Candidates are from Moretele, and he is confident that the Councillors are equipped and ready to serve the community of Moretele effectively.
ECOFORUM will be contesting the local government election in all 26 Wards of Moretele Local Municipality which includes wards 8 and 23 and their plan also includes reactivating sports and recreation for the youth to compete at the national level.
Dr Langa said his party is opposed to any political killings whether through greed, differences, affiliation, and termination.
“ECOFORUM supports a fair and peaceful process of the Local Government Elections 2021 and we will be contesting the Local Government Elections in over 450 Wards in three major Metros,” he said.
“We were part of the 2019 National Government Election and we are known to be a non-denominational, non-doctrinal, borderless, non-demarcation movement derived from the Holy Scriptures,” Dr Langa said.
