The Gauteng Central Mini 1 tournament, the final qualifying event for the prestigious Gauteng Masters, saw a strong showing from the players of the Hammanskraal Tennis Club (HTC). The young athletes displayed exceptional talent and skill on the court, making their club proud.
In the Boys Under 12 category, Tshenolo Letsapa emerged victorious, showcasing his prowess in the age group. In the Boys Under 14 Gold event, Atlegang Mokwatlo continued HTC’s winning ways by claiming the top spot.
The doubles events also saw HTC players making their mark. Koketso Lephotho and Bokang Phahlamohlaka secured the runner-up position in the Boys Under 14 Doubles, while Eric Matjiane and Tshepang Tlhatlha finished as runners-up in the Men’s Doubles.
Mogomotsi Sekgobela finished in 4th place in the Girls Under 16 category, showcasing the depth of talent within the HTC ranks. Eric Matjiane and Tshepang Tlhatlha also put in impressive performances, finishing 5th and 6th in the Men’s Singles and Men’s Singing events, respectively.
Kgosietsile Tlhatlha, another HTC player, rounded out the top performances with a 4th-place finish in the Boys Under 14 Gold category. Koketso Lephotho and Jayson Maxson also represented the club well, finishing 6th and 7th in the Boys Under 14 event.
In the Girls Under 12 Doubles, Onalenna Noko reached the semi-finals, further demonstrating the club’s success across various age groups and disciplines.

The Gauteng Masters, the culmination of the qualifying tournaments, is set to be an exciting event, and the HTC players will undoubtedly be aiming to continue their impressive performances and bring more glory to their club and community of Hammankskraal.
