Notice is hereby given in terms of Section 11(4), read with Section 73 of the National Environmental Management: Waste Act (Act No. 59 of 2008) as amended (NEM: WA), that the Moretele Local Municipality in the North West Province is developing an Integrated Waste Management Plan.

The proposed project entails the development of an Integrated Waste Management Plan for the Moretele Local Municipality in terms of Section 11(4) of NEM: WA, which requires each municipality to submit its Integrated Waste Management Plan to the Member of Executive Council for endorsement; and to include the approved Integrated Waste Management Plan in its Integrated Development Plan.

PROJECT LOCATION: Moretele Local Municipality is located in the Bojanala Platinum District Municipality in the North West Province.

Delta Built Environment Consultants has been appointed by the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment as the service provider responsible for the development of the Moretele Local Municipality  Integrated Waste Management Plan and the associated Public Participation Process.

The Draft Integrated Waste Management Plan will be available for public review for 30 days, commencing from Thursday, 06 February 2025, until Friday 07 March 2025, at the following libraries:

  • Mphebatho Community Library – Dertig Village
  • Legkraal Community Library – Tladistad Village
  • Papi Ntjane Community Library – Ga-Motla Village
  • Lucas Modise Dual Purpose Library – Lebotloane Village
