Residents of Tambo in Temba are now going for three days without water and four weeks without waste being collected.

Under normal circumstances, rubbish bins were collected every week but this now has changed and the garbage is not being collected anymore.

“We will resort into the old ways of throwing rubbish everywhere because our dustbins are full and we now have nowhere to throw new waste,” said Lucas Maimane, resident of Tambo.

Lack of water has also put residents under severe pressure as majority of people use flashing toilets. Residents are now forced to buy water for toilets, bathing and household use.

Meanwhile the City of Tshwane has urged residents to stop illegal dumping threatening to punish illegal dumpers.

Moretele Times tried to contact the city of Tshwane offices about the matter, we were put on hold for long enough.
