A hawker was mugged of approximately R200 and a cell phone today in the afternoon at Tambo in Hammanskraal by nyaope addicts.
Mr Peter Makoni, a vegetable hawker from Portion 9 at Tambo was beaten up to a state where he could not stand straight after the incident. “I was going about my usual rounds selling vegetables when I heard people calling from behind, they then attacked me demanding money. It happened so fast that I cannot even identify them as such I cannot even report the matter to the police” .he said.
A witness said residents saw the incident from a distance and gave chase but the =and when they tried to help the robbers had already finished their job and fled.
Mr Sello Moema told Moretele times that they saw the incident from a distance and chased the robbers who manged to escape.
