The executive mayor of Tshwane, Kgosientso Ramokgopa will be hosting a special certification ceremony for Tshwane matriculants who have excelled in their 2015 examinations.
The event will take place at Southern Sun Hotel cnr Steve Boko and Stanza Bopape streets in Tshwane at 10am on the 12th of January 2016.
In a statement, Mayoral Spokesperson, City Mayor Kgosientso Ramokgopa said the City of Tshwane joins the entirety of the education fraternity of the Gauteng City Region in congratulating the learners who have successfully completed the 2015 matric examinations.
“With our largest higher education intake in the country, we look forward to welcoming these learners many of whom will descent on our city in the next days and weeks as they seek enrolment in our prestigious institutions of higher learning, and become our newest residents for the remainder of their learning lives”-said Kgosientso Ramokgopa.
At the event, learners will be rewarded with certificate, bursaries and gifts to applaud them for representing the capital city well through their outstanding performance and to inspire them to greater heights as transition to institutions of higher learning. The event is expected to be attended by guests from government departments, commissions, non-governmental organisations, education institutions including parents of the learners.
“As the City we commit to continue to make our due contributions to the development of education in our country and ensure that municipal services and amenities are geared towards supporting conducive conditions for learning and teaching and for the holistic development of youth in schools” said Mayor Ramokgopa.
