A 24 years old man from Ruigtesloot accused of raping two young vulnerable girls appeared in the Moretele Magistrate court in Temba, Hammanskraal on 08 August 2017.
The 24 year old was arrested on Monday 07 August 2017 after two cases of rape were opened against him. It is alleged that the accused raped two young girls aged 7 and 8 years old.
The accused requested legal aid for his bail hearing and for representation on 16 August 2017 when his case will be heard. He will remain in custody till he can appear again for his bail hearing.
In another case a 37 year old man accused of stabbing his girlfriend was denied bail because he was regarded a flight risk by the Moretele Magistrate Court.
The man from Bela Bela, who currently reside in Mathibestad was arrested on the 11 of July at Swartdam after he has been running away from the police for almost a year since he committed the crime.
He is also wanted in Bela Bela for four other previous convictions and one other pending case for theft and assault.
The court refused to grant him bail because he has been able to evade arrest for such a long time. It is also alleged that on the day of his arrest, his family had hid him in a parked bakkie.
He is due back in court on 30 August 2017.
