History will be made on Sunday August 16, 2015, when the Inaugural Flight from Wonderboom National Airport takes off to Cape Town.
Airlink Flight SA8673 will take to the skies from the Capital City to the Mother City on Sunday evening at 17:45. Executive Director of Strategic Communications at the City of Tshwane, Mr Selby Bokaba said all the necessary upgrades have been completed and the challenges relating to the shortage of fuel have been sorted. The scheduled flights is a joint a venture between South African Airways and Airlink, which will offer passengers from Tshwane and its surrounds, Limpopo and North West Provinces, convenience, shorter travel times, lesser traffic (especially during peak hour times), quicker aircraft boarding and disembarking than at other airports. City of Tshwane Mayor, Mr Kgosientso Ramokgopa, will join the SA Airlink management on Sunday to witness the inaugural take-off.
