The Executive Mayor of Tshwane, Councillor Kgosientso Ramokgopa and leaders of various faith-based organisations will hold a prayer session for victims of crime whilst enforcing the law, to strengthen relations between the City and faith-based organisations and to highlight the City’s interventions in combating senseless crimes.
The prayer session is scheduled to take place on Friday 18 September at the Tshwane Events Centre.
The prayer session represents a continuation of a crusade towards a liveable, safe and prosperous city. High levels of police murders across the country and recent motor vehicle accidents involving metro police officers have triggered the call to seek the divine intervention. “These untimely deaths lead to fear and feelings of insecurity within the affected families and communities and can drastically affect people’s morale, ” said Mr Ramokgopa. Through the session, the City hopes to strengthen community relations and contribute towards nation building based on caring, sharing and respecting each other’s human rights.
Details of the prayer session are as follows:
Date: 18 September 2015
Time: 10:00 – 13:00
Venue: Tshwane Events Centre (Old Pretoria showgrounds)
Hall J, Soutter Street, Pretoria West
