HAMMER aims to turn Tshwane Region 2 into Gauteng entertainment hub

NEW EESTERUS-They are a motivated group with big ambitions to turn Moretele Region and Tshwane Region 2 into the entertainment hub of Gauteng.

The Hammanskraal Music and Entertainment Rapture (HAMMER), is a group of talented youth who specialize in marketing and entertainment. The group is formed by the CEO, Mr Mareka Mgnuni from Temba, the COO, Mr Ayanda Maphakula from Suurman, Venue Director, Mr Philip Mohaudi from New Eesterus, September Mahlangu from Temba and the Administrator, Ms Leah Mohaudi from New Eesterus.mareka1
This group is driven by the passion to develop the arts in the community and to give the community opportunities to showcase their artistic abilities and thereby create income generating activities. They also want to showcase local talent, develop audience, promote live bands, present platforms for upcoming artist and develop fashion designers. 
“The idea is to get the community to celebrate the arts in overall instead of concentrating on music only. “We want the community to embrace each aspect of the arts ranging from craft, traditional dance, fashion, theater and music,” said Mr Mguni.
Hammer acknowledges that they will need a lot of capacity to actualize their plans and have been able to mobilize partnerships with the Machell family that owns lodges in Bosplaas and New Eesterus. The owners of the lodge appointed them to manage and market the Vus’Shaun lodge that is in New Eesterus. This deal creates and opportunity for Hammer to use the venue to host their events. They were also able to establish media partnerships with Moretele Times, Moretele Community Radio and other partnerships with T.E.M.D Liquor Trader and Ramalepe Security and Catering Services. They are in negotiations with local artists and groups to host events at the lodge. Part of the deal for Vus”Shaun Lodge is that they will manage the lodge and market it to the local and external clients.
Mareka6Vus’Shaun, which is between Temba Township and Soshanguve boasts 18 self-catering rooms, swimming pool, beautiful garden, a Lapa and plenty of parking space. The lodge is a multi-purpose center for the arts and other community engagements. The rooms are exclusive and ideal for variety of clients. ”We are still developing the place to suite all the categories of the arts offered by the region,” said Mr Mguni.
The brand Hammer will officially be launched together with the Vus’Shaun lodge on 24 October 2015. The launch will take place at the lodge which is situated at Stinkwater along the Molefe Makinta highway. The planned whole night event will start at 15h00.
Hammer plans to host events on a weekly basis that will culminate into monthly competitions and an award ceremony at the end of the year. The weekly events and activations are as follows; Mondays, Vus’Shaun Blues, Tuesdays Theater Dark, Wednesdays, Vus’Shaun Night of laughs, Thursdays: Vus’Shaun Theater night out, Fridays, Vus’Shaun Open Mic Sessions(HipHop), Saturdays, The Vus’Shaun Experience(House) and Sunday; Vus’Shaun Chillas. Also on Saturday Mornings the venue will host a Flee Market and on Sundays Stokvels, Social Clubs and other community events.
Hammer COO, Mr Ayanda Maphakhula, said they have the support of the community and want the community to feel that the venue is a place where community members can learn and develop talents.
