The first Bi-Annual Backing Vocals and Sessions Musician (BVSM) Awards will be held in Tshwane on 12 November 2015 at the State Theater 17:00.
The awards acknowledges, celebrates, rewards and promotes Backing Vocals and Session Musicians. The awards were introduced in 2014 by Princess of Africa Foundation and musician, Ms Yvonne Chaka Chaka Promotions for “Backing Vocalists and Session Musicians” supported by The City of Tshwane. These awards identify and recognize Backing Vocalists and Session Musicians for their contribution towards the development of music in South Africa, as it was noted that they’re the only two groups of Musicians that are currently not being recognized globally. The brain behind this concept is the Princess of Africa herself, Yvonne Chaka Chaka.
The show will be hosted by comedian Joey Rasdien. In vindication of recognizing excellence of BVSM the POAF together with Stakeholders will develop and monitor an outreach programme which will see awards winners mentoring and training aspirant artists in Communities nationally. The Outreach programme is 18 months activation between the awards events.

A judging panel consists of The Music Guru -Sean Brokensha, Greg Maloka, Tu Nokwe, Dharam Sewraj, Cedric Samson, Andre Le Roux, Nhlanhla Sibisi and Arnold Mabunda.
