They entertain guests at weddings and at the same time keep fit through their dance moves. The Bontle Dance group hails from Mogogelo in Hammanskraal and consist of 10 grandmas.
Spokesperson for the group, Ms Grace Meso, said they started the group in 2014 by putting the grandmas together to do something with their time.
She said she taught the grandmas the dance moves from Moletjie and they were excited about the initiative. As time passed, they started making the initiative a business by entertaining guests at parties and weddings.
Today they are a known brand in the village as a wedding will not be complete without their entertainment.
“We make a little bit of money for ourselves while keeping fit and enjoying to entertain guest.
“Most of our members are pensioners but they keep up with the practice to prepare for events and they love it,” Ms Meso said.
Ms Meso said she gets the music from Moletjie on a USB to update themselves with the latest cultural music so that they remain relevant.
