The North west star line bus company in Hammanskraal has on Friday 09 January 2018 displayed five of the 70 new buses at Jubilee Mall bus rank that are expected to ease the transport crisis in the area.
Speaking at the display event, General Manager at NSW bus company, Mr Arnold Komane, said they are going to remove all dilapidated buses off the roads.

“This new buses will allow us to scrap old buses and we apologise for the inconvenience we have caused to our customers who have been sustaining us financially. Another five buses are stationed at our depot which means we have 10 new buses to add to our 284 buses.
“The only problem we have for now is that this buses do not have permits and we cannot confirm when we will receive the permits.” Said Mr Komane.
He further stressed that their contract is expected to expire by end of March 2018 but they are expecting a 12 month contract extension with the Department of Transport.

The commuters who attended the display event at Jubilee Mall bus rank had mixed emotions.
Ms Belesita Molapo, a commuter from Mathibestad said she was not happy after she was informed that the new buses would not be reaching her place but the old buses will be the ones coming to her area.

“We are compromised because we are from far, this old buses are not in good condition and they always break down. We also want new buses because we pay the same bus fare like commuters from other areas.”
Mr Komane assured the 22 000 customers that they are working tirelessly to get the permits for the buses to be on the roads and another 60 buses are expected to arrive in the coming weeks.
