The Management of Jubilee Mall has said the mall will remain open for as long as it is prudent and permissible during the Corona national disaster.
Marketing Manager at the Mall, Ms Mmabatho Madisa, said the well-being of tenants, shoppers and employees are of paramount importance and to that effect, management is closely monitoring the development of the COVID-19 situation and has taken the necessary precautionary measures in line with the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the relevant South African and local health authorities.
She said the Mall will stay abreast of all new developments and keep the shopper community informed at all times.
“The Mall remains open and operating for retailers to serve the community during this unprecedented period and we will continue to support our shopper community by ensuring that critical products and services are available to those who need them.
“Providing a safe environment, as we remain open, is our first priority. To safeguard our shopper community, we are taking all the recommended precautions. Cleaning of the mall’s common areas is taking place more regularly and vigorously and we are using the prescribed alcohol-based disinfectants,” Ms Madisa said.
Besides these safety measures, shoppers are reminded to care for their well-being by washing their hands thoroughly, avoid shaking hands, trying not to touch their face and covering their sneezes and coughs with the inside of the flexed elbow.
“To this end, we have posted notices in all our ablution facilities in the mall,” Ms Madisa said.
