The GNJT squad is an invitational squad for the top tennis players in the Gauteng North Province who practice together and compete against one another on Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings. From this group of players, an Interprovincial team and Match Play teams are selected to compete against other provinces and districts.

The GNJT Squad is independent of any schools, coaches, and other academies or squads. The Tennis South Africa (TSA) ranking list is used to invite the top 25 boys and girls in Gauteng North per age group (u12 to u/20) to join the GNJT squad on Saturday mornings.

Players can also apply to attend the Saturday morning squad. An evaluation procedure is then used to determine if the player will be included. Players moving from the u10 to u12 age group who do not have TSA ranking points will be invited on tournament results and GNJT coaches recommendation. U10 Players will be invited on tournament results and GNJT coaches’ recommendations.
