Mr Philip Ngobeni (37) is an artist manager and event organizer who lives in Mathibestad, Hammaskraal. He started a project called Village Arts five years ago that focuses on arts, heritage, and cultural education and teaches the youth music, dance, and poetry.
Besides event planning, Mr Ngobeni gives back to his community by donating food parcels and toiletries to the less fortunate.
“I saw that my community lacked a lot and I saw the need to be a helping hand and give what I can.
“To me, the arts are not just a way of living but a healthy lifestyle choice, through arts I know I can contribute towards making changes in my community and make it a better place for the youth. The community can use arts to generate income and eliminate poverty,” he said.
”My father is a musician and my mother plays percussion, so I thought it would be best to obtain a diploma in popular music majoring in guitar and music business,” Mr Ngobeni added
