Moretele – Over 2,200 matriculants from more than 28 secondary schools gathered today at the Mogogelo Community Hall in Ward 11 for the annual career exhibition, an event designed to inspire and inform students about various career paths.

Organized in partnership with Nzalo Careers, the exhibition aimed to connect learners with industry professionals, providing them with insights into potential career opportunities. The event serves as a crucial platform for young individuals to explore their future options and gain guidance from experienced mentors.

Among the attendees was Moretele Local Municipality Mayor, Hon. Cllr Masango George Manyike, who emphasized the importance of the event in his address to the students. “As you stand at this pivotal moment in your lives, remember that you are not just exploring options; you are laying the foundation for your future,” he stated. The Mayor encouraged the students to ask questions and fully engage with the exhibitors to make informed career decisions.

He further motivated the learners by saying, “The choices you make now will shape the trajectory of your lives. Don’t be afraid to dream big. Your aspirations are valid, and you can achieve them with hard work and determination.” He highlighted that whether they envision careers in science, the arts, business, or any other field, their passion and effort are key to success.

The event was also marked by a lively performance from local artist “Biri Marung,” hitmaker Tebogo G Mashego, whose song became popularized as “Thuto Marung.” Mashego energized the crowd, inviting students to join him on stage for a sing-along, creating a memorable and engaging atmosphere.

The annual career exhibition showcases the diverse opportunities available to students and reinforces the importance of community support in shaping the future of Moretele’s youth.
