The community of Temba gathered on Saturday, 31 May 2025, to bid farewell to Thekiso Johannes Alexander, affectionately known as ‘Roy Ntobong,’ who was laid to rest following his passing after a prolonged illness. He was 81 years old.

The funeral service was attended by family, friends, and community members who came together to celebrate his life and legacy. Born on November 8, 1943, in Bridgeman Hospital, Johannesburg, Mr Ntobong was remembered for his dedication to education, faith, and community service.

As a beloved educator, he taught at various schools and served as principal at Stinkhouse Primary School, positively impacting the lives of countless students. His commitment extended beyond the classroom, as he actively participated in community initiatives and served as chairman of the Lutheran Temba B Congregation.

Mr Ntobong’s family, including his wife, Gabanthate Elizabeth Ntobong, and their three sons, led the tributes, sharing heartfelt memories of his love and guidance. He is survived by two sisters, three brothers, 12 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

The service was a testament to his remarkable life, filled with love, faith, and dedication to others. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
