In a heartfelt gesture, Mr Fikile Mbalula, the Secretary General of the African National Congress (ANC), visited the Matjila family yesterday to pay his respects following the passing of Dr. Pertunia Mathibe, the late wife of ANC Regional Coordinator Mr George Matjila.
The visit took place at the Matjila residence, at Renstown, Hammanskraal, where Mr Mbalula expressed his condolences and solidarity with the family during this difficult time. Dr. Mathibe, affectionately known as Dr. Pert, was a well-known figure in the community and a dedicated advocate for social justice.
Mr Mbalula said the ANC is committed to supporting its members and their families in times of loss. “We are here to honor Dr. Pert’s legacy and to stand with the Matjila family.
“This visit is a poignant reminder of the bonds that unite the ANC and its members, and our enduring values of compassion and community solidarity,” Mbalula stated during the visit.
