In celebrating Transport Month this October, residents of Tshwane and visitors will enjoy free rides on the ‘A Re Yeng’ buses between Hatfield and the CBD on Saturdays.
The initiative called Mahala Saturdays (Free Saturdays) will run from 10 October until 31 October. “One does not need a ticket to board the buses during this time,” said Mayoral Spokesperson, Mr Blessing Manale.
“Commuters will get to enjoy benefits such as free Wi-Fi access and full air conditioning, moreover, there are eight dedicated red priority seats reserved for pregnant women, the aged and infirm persons on all buses and a wheelchair space is conveniently situated on the aisle next to the doors,” he said.
He said ‘A Re Yeng’ buses are easy to board owing to their low floors and they emit less harmful gases than most buses. They also feature hi-tech full air suspension and automatic transmission, complete with integrated hydrodynamic retarders, ensuring maximum passenger comfort and vehicle stability. In short; a bump-free ride.
The Mahala Saturdays offer will run in conjunction with other Transport Month initiatives.
Commuters can get in touch with the ‘A Re Yeng’ team through the call centre: 012 358 4848.
