As from today, members of the three Hammanskraal associations will only be transporting commuters from Hammanskraal to Rainbow Junction Station where commuters will then board A Re Yeng to the CBD.
The taxi associations affected are Taxi Association (HATO), Stinkwater Eersterust Taxi Association (SETA) and the Ga-Mokone Hammanskraal Stinkwater Taxi Association (GHSTA).
The taxi associations will be compensated for the 10km distance they will be forfeiting by terminating at Wonderboom and not proceeding to Central Busines District (CBD).
The introduction of this route, by the Member of Mayoral Committee, Cllr Sheila Lynn Senkubuge, follows an agreement between the City and the three Hammanskraal taxi associations.
The A Re Yeng Line 1A route officially opened today and runs from the Molefe Makinta Station, opposite Paul Kruger Square, to the Rainbow Junction Station, north of Pretoria.
