Stima Mollo gospel group from Suurman won the competition prize of R2000 and a trophy at a Gospel clap and tab competition held at Sebothoma Community Hall in Temba Hammanskraal on Saturday 20/05/2017.

A total of 5 gospel clap and tab groups tested their skills of composing in this competition. The event was organised by Tshedimosetso Community Development in partnership with the Gauteng Department of Sports and Culture attended by choirs from Hammanskraal, Suurman, Unit 5 and Soshanguve.

The purpose was to encourage young people to get off the streets and participate in clap and tab competitions and to promote existing groups in the community.

Stima Mollo group leader, Ms Mohao Lebese, said the competition was successful and the community of Hammanskraal attended in numbers in support of the event. She said she is proud of the boys and that she wishes to see more of these competitions to get kids off the streets.

Well known TV actor and former Generations actor, Mr Sebutla Sebogodi (Kenneth Mashaba) who is also a singer and was one of the judges, encouraged the young people of Hammanskraal to quite substance abuse and join local existing clap and tab choirs.

“We want you to participate in these choirs to keep you busy and stop engaging yourselves in substance abuse to have a bright future,” he said.
