Rand water foundation and pink drive assisting with registration for different services offered on the day

The Deputy Minister of Social Development, Ms. Hendrietta Bogopane-Zulu, led the PinkDrive Campain in Suurman, Hammanskraal on 6 August 2020 in partnership with The Rand Water Foundation.

PinkDrive is a Non-Profit Company (NPC) that delivers health-related education and cancer screening services, care and support by reaching out to schools, clinics, hospitals and communities.

Pink Drive campaign is part of the Women’s Month program which takes place each year during the month of August. This year, Women’s Month the government theme is, “Generation Equality, Realising Women’s Rights for an Equal Future.”

Rand Water Foundation is a section 10 None Profit Company owned by Rand Water. Mandated to coordinate, administer and manage the CSI resources by undertaking community development projects in partnership with various donors and stakeholders.

The basket of services rendered on the day included free education on women’s health, free pap smears for cervical cancer and free clinical self-breast examinations, mammograms and PSA screening for men over the age of 40 years. Community members on the day also had an opportunity to be tested for Covid-19.

The Department of Social Development is committed to strengthening families, empowering women and educating both male and female parents about breast cancer and other male-related cancers. This in return would help prevent the spread of cancer and afford South Africans a chance to lead normal family lives.
